Las Vegas – At the fall Cosmetic Bootcamp (CBC), attendees learned about many of the hottest cosmeceutical products and ingredients:
- For moisturization, Ava Shamban, M.D., recommended HA5, a hyaluronic acid product. “It’s great for dryness which can be associated with different skin conditions, as well as photodamaged skin, whatever the patient’s age.” She is a Beverly Hills-based dermatologist.
- For hyperpigmentation, she recommended the new version of Lytera, which contains tranexamic acid, a highly effective lightening ingredient that has scientific data behind it.
- For daily cleansing, “We like the Nia 24 Physical Cleansing Scrub.” It contains spherical jojoba beads encapsulated with niacinamide. This ingredient provides anti-inflammatory and other properties that Dr. Shamban said make the product useful for acne, and in combination with other skincare products. “Niacinamide is very effective in the skin.”
