Skin treatment pioneer
During her time as the featured dermatologist on Extreme Makeover, Dr. Shamban pioneered her own multimodal treatment approach that, by strategically using new cosmetic dermatology technologies, could achieve extraordinary results in an accelerated time frame with lasting results. She has incorporated these techniques into her AVA MD practices and has based her new SKINxFIVE enterprise on them as well.
Dr. Shamban is not just about making pretty people prettier. In fact, the inspiration for her book, Heal Your Skin stems directly from the Extreme Makeover experience as well as her extensive work with patients experiencing serious health issues such as cancer, menopause and trauma. In the book as in her practice, Dr. Shamban provides readers with the opportunity to look their best even when they may feel their worst. In the face of some of life’s most challenging situations, Dr. Shamban provides helpful tips, nutrition and exercise advice as well as DIY recipes for readers to create their own specialized skin care treatments at home.
Another innovation, the launch of SKINxFIVE (skin-times-five) opened the doors to those who were disinclined to invest massive amounts of time and money on new cosmetic dermatology procedures but still wanted their skin to look and feel better. Offering five, and only five, of Dr. Shamban’s favorite technology-based services, SKINxFIVE is a streamlined skin treatment haven for the prevention of aging and correction of complexions over time. In incorporating Dr. Shamban’s multimodal treatment approach by strategically combining different services in a given treatment, the SKINxFIVE team is able to offer unprecedented results at reasonable prices.
Dr. Shamban is also a skilled skin care product formulator with launches including the AVA MD, AVA Infuse and upcoming SKINxFIVE regimens.
On her own time, Dr. Ava Shamban is an enthusiastic traveler having visited every continent on earth. Plus, she enjoys spending time with her three sons, hiking, skiing, cycling, yoga and fine dining.
